Member of Somaliland Parliament
I served as a Member of the House of Representatives (MP) of the Republic of Somaliland for a period of sixteen (16) years (2005–2021). During this tenure, I held several key leadership positions, including Chairperson of the Committee on Natural Resources and Environment for eight (8) years and Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for two (2) years. Furthermore, I chaired or participated as a member of special legislative committees tasked with the drafting and editorial revision of sixteen (16) statutory instruments. In my legislative role, I also contributed substantively to the deliberation and adoption of fifty-six (56) laws and parliamentary resolutions.
